QUOTE of the WEEK

"Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion; it is not the expression of personality, but an escape from personality. But, of course, only those who have personality and emotions know what it means to want to escape from these things." - T. S. Eliot

*** I NEED A CLASS PICTURE - everyone needs to be present or I can't take one!

January 28, 2011

TO INFINITY And ...

Let's reach beyond ourselves for a moment.  Let's imagine we could truly be anything we wanted and not just because our parents tell us we can or because we have an over-active ambition like Caesar.  Give your mind a break from midterms and turn on your imagination.  What would it be like if you were a superhero?  And I don't mean Wonder Woman (I already own that title), or Teacher of the Universe (mine as well).  I mean a new and improved superhero - one never before seen or heard.

Think about the classic superhero scenario: a hidden identity, a super power, a chance to save the world. We are all familiar with Batman, Spiderman, Superman, the Hulk, the Flash, Wolverine ... wait a minute! Where are all the female heroes? Ladies, we have histrorically been virtually shut out of this profession! This is your time to shine!  This is everyone's opportunity to create a new kind of superhero for a new day and age.

Unveil a secret identity and unique super-human power. The catch: your super-human power must be an original, never-before-used-by-any-other-superhero power.  Be as creative as you want with it.   What is your power? How do you use it? When do you use it? Why do you use it? *Be sure to comment on another classmate's superhero status.*

May the force be with you ...

Superpowers such as flying, invisibility, creating fire, scaling vertical walls, and time machine transportation are definitely fine attributes to possess. If I could create a superpower, my superhero would be named: “Superprobe” and would possess the ability to peer into someone’s eyes and immediately unveil that person’s past history and imminent future actions. This superpower would be especially advantageous if I was to come in contact with a criminal or a terrorist. With one glance, I would instantly recognize his or her past actions and future intentions for the next 24 hours. I would be able to know the details of the next victim: who, what, where, when, how and why. In conjunction with the proper authorities, my superhero would be able to put a stop to criminal activity. My superhero could even alter history and safeguard the greater good by preventing shootings at high schools and colleges, as well as thwarting bombings or worse at airports and other targets of terrorism.

When one thinks of a superhero, he or she generally pictures a buff man in a bright spandex costume flying around. He is usually beating up a bad guy, saving some girl who then thanks him and/or falls into his arms. Personally, I find this whole picture to be extremely loathsome. Perhaps it is because men are so often portrayed as the "superheros" that I cannot even begin to picture myself or any other woman in the same way. However, I feel that were I able to be anything I wanted, my first powers would come of selfishness. I would not want a silly costume or an exciting name. I would not like to be seen flying around protecting people from the harm of others in such a way where I would have to hurt someone else (even a criminal). I would want subtlety.

My powers would include the power to be happy at all times, the power the withstand all degrees of stress, the power to stretch or lengthen my time, and the power of immunity to all illnesses. However, I would like to have powers that can help others as well.

While Liz selflessly describes powers and capabilities that allow her to stop or erase killings and to recognize when bad things will happen, I would like to help people as well in my own way. I'm aware that everyone struggles with happiness at some point and I would simply like the power to erase one's depression. I would like to be able to cure people of mental illnesses with the blink of an eye. Also, the power to communicate with animals and conclude what it is they need that humans are ignorant to so that they may obtain peace in this world as well.

I feel that a real superhero like batman or superman would terrify real-life people because we as human beings are afraid of what we do not understand. I know that I can never truly obtain these powers, however, I believe I can still do and achieve what I would hope to with them.

Everyone wanted to have some sort of super power when they were little. I always wanted to fly more than anything else. My superpower I would want would of course be to fly. I would use it when someone was in need of help, it is much faster way of transportation. I would want this power because I feel besides making it easier and faster to help others, you can see so much more from higher up, and it makes you feel powerful.

I like Lizzy’s idea of stopping killings before they happen, and I think flying just makes everything faster and more fun.
I also agree with Emma that we should not have special costumes, although I think having a name, just gives us a little credit. While the point of being a superhero is to help people, they also are usually known well, almost as if they were some famous person. The point of helping people is not to gain something in return or to get credit for doing a good deed. Having a costume just seems to me like they are trying to make themselves known, standing out from the crowd just because they choose to help people. Most superhero’s I can think of are strong men, who as Emma said always get the girl after he is done helping. Women are just as capable of helping as men, and these images we all know about men being the superhero is just not right.

Sadly I do believe in Super Heros having exciting suits that go around saving everyone. I disagree with Rachel's ideas about playing nice, if I were a super hero I would resort to violence when ever the situation called for it. I believe everyone wants to be apart of an epic battle between two sides filled with contempt for each other, but still have a fight with those gray areas where you do not know the difference between right and wrong. So it is with my utter pleasure that I will give you a short story of my super hero character, The Purger, and I hope you enjoy the story.
In the beginning God created the heavens, the deserted lands, and the Earth along with all the creatures of the universe. He created heaven to be his permanent headquarters and another to hold the vast amount of stars, planets, moons, and the sort. He created Earth specifically for the species known as humans to praise him and empower his newly created angels. The deserted lands were produced in order to hold these humans if heaven became too filled to house them. God being burdened by all his work decided to take rest for a day, after all he was not perfect. There was much prosperity through out God's domain for a very long undetermined amount of time.
One day Satan, God's second in command, over heard God talking about replacing him in the chain of command. Satan was distraught to hear that the master was making such a decision; Satan had always done the right thing. In his state he decided to try and attempt to take God's power while God was sleeping in his chambers by using an energy link all angels could perform to transfer good energy into other beings. However, Satan tried using it to leach out energy from God. This inversion of the energy link caused Satan to obtain an overwhelming amount of dark energy from God, all of it in fact. God awoke immediately as a new perfect being; Satan fled. Satan was unintentionally spewing dark energy everywhere. He hit many angels as he took flight which caused them to possess dark energy too or to be evil. God immediately organized Satan and the rest of the angels exposed to dark energy to be cast out into the deserted lands and to never be allowed back into heaven.

(Please continue to next slide)

Nick Couper said...

Satan was an unending well of dark energy that he had to dump somewhere. He started by channeling it into the Demons, or the exposed angels, now following him to start the construction of a small place they could call home. After this the distribution of the energy was needed to be placed else where. So Satan sent his demons to earth to distribute the dark energy among the humans. The humans started committing evil deeds and started going to hell where they are continually exposed to dark energy.
God saw Satan's actions and retaliated by send angels to form strongholds on earth. As Satan's numbers grew God came to the realization that he must attack Satan's lands to keep him from assaulting heaven. God sent out all his angels into an eternal war between heaven and the deserted lands. As living conditions worsened and the people became use to living in the horrors of war, they called the place Hell.
As time went on God needed guardians of Earth to keep Satan from infecting the people as much as possible. So God took volunteers of humans in heaven, gave them the ability of the energy links and a special sword maintained by the tears of its owner. Then he sent these people back to earth to collect people's dark energy and to ward off demons. They are commonly refered to as profits, but God named them the peacekeepers. Every peacekeeper has the same fate; he or she dies from overwhelming dark energy.
However, one has remained alive and wields massive power. This man has been disowned by God for his threat and is wanted dead by all. Fortunately, he obtained a protective suit formed by Satan. It is composed of enough dark energy to disperse among a legion of demons. There's just one catch; this man must protect Satan from dying. God has ordered the invasion of Hell, but if angels kill Satan it would destroy the universe from a sudden release of unthinkable amounts of dark energy. This man is the Purger. He goes running around earth protecting its people and himself from any angels, demons, peacekeepers, and general troublemakers.

Oh man…superpowers! Well, I always hated in most comic books and series the girl always falls for the hero (like what Emma said). Gosh darn it! Let a man fall for the woman for once!!!!! That’s what I really don’t like! All TV shows, movies, books, and heck even some videogames are like that. Did anyone notice that in vampire series like Twlight; Its always a human girl falling for a male vampire and the male vampire has to protect the girl from other vampires or creatures. The girl is almost always the helpless one! This cliché makes women look like helpless cheese doodles falling out of the sky and the hero is a human hand that has to catch them! Bwah! It makes me sick! Cliché! I only heard of one Vampire series where the human boy falls for a vampire girl. (My friend is reading it, and its actually good.)
Any hoo, My super character can dig into your dreams and see all parts of your mind. Then she can bring all these ideas, thoughts and dreams into the real world, thus making them come to life. Well sort of, these ideas can only become real one week at a time before they disappear back inside your head. My character can also put you in a coma for up to 5 years and lock your soul inside your head with all your problems and nightmares. Oh she can also do the same to her self except with all her dreams and happy thoughts. But If she puts you in a coma and she dies all of a sudden; CONGRADULATIONS your stuck in a catatonic state for the rest of your life. And all your dream characters and nightmares and stuff stay in the real world for good. Because of her powers, my character stays to herself and has very few friends. She’s a wander so she is always on the move. Hey! She has the power to torture people, do you know how many governments would want her working for them. She would be the next best torture device since hair prim! But she can also help people deal with their problems, sometimes if she sees people sleeping in a park bench she might become curious and dig into their mind and dreams. And she might just help them cope with their issues and/or nightmares. How many heroines like this do you hear about.

Danny Gardner said...

First of all Ms. Depalo you are not Wonder Woman. Hate to rain on your parade but sadly, you aren't. I agree with Emma about her power to deal with stress and be happy. Those are pretty common problems that people face everyday and a superpower to care for that would be excellent. Although super strength would be a nice trait to have being able to cure sadness and stress would be more effective in today's society.

If I had a superpower it would be to time travel. We all make mistakes and later on in life we will have many regrets, because no one is perfect. So if I had the choice to go back and do something differently I could change the course of my life and others' as well. It may not seem so "super" but I bet that a lot of people would go back in time to fix at least one mistake that they made. This power can be used in those moments we have where we realize we made a huge mistake. If I had one of those moments then I would use my time travel ability to go back in time and change my decision to alter the outcome. Then I would return to the present day with the changes intact. I know from personal experiences that I have made many mistakes and if I could change them I would. This power would be more effective in the future when we look back at what we could have done better. I know when I grow up I’ll look back and realize that there were a thousand things I could have done differently or better. It may not be as cool as heat vision or super speed but it's definitely a power that could be used in reality. As opposed to heat vision or some other ability that would never be need or is physically impossible.

I have always dreamed of being a super hero, and being able to have extraordinary powers: such as flying, super strength, and invisibility. When reading every superhero story, they have particularly the same concept. The hero always saves the civilians from the villains and gets the girl. If I where to have a super power I would want a power that allows me to save civilians. I want a power where I can cure those who are sick, and stop them from suffering. I also want a power where I can provide happiness and hope for those who can’t have it themselves. I want to be the superhero to cure patients with cancer, and allow them to have hope and be happy. Cancer is a disease that takes a lot of strength and power to fight against, and those who fight it are consider their own hero’s. I feel instead of them going through the pain to fight against cancer, they should have the hero to cure it for them. Not only for cancer patients but those who suffer any diseases where they feel that life is about to end for them.

Instead of having a selfish power that benefits me, I want a power that can benefit everyone. With this power I would help those in deep need, who are suffering from pain, and deserve the chance to a healthy life. I agree with Emma because I do not want a special suit with tight spandex, because like Rachel said, it just seems as if it’s a way to stand out from the crown and attention. In society we don’t need superhero that wears bright color spandex and can fly. We need a hero that can help those who are in deep need, and those who suffer because at the end of the days those who help the people in need are the true hero’s, not those who can fly.

If I were a superhero I would not have a shiny suit or be covered in spandex. These type of things would only distract from what I could do with my powers. I agree with Emma about the power to stretch out time to whatever amount you need. That seems like something that everyone could use, especially now with midterms and whatnot.

My powers would be the power to turn one thing into any other thing, the power to predict future events and the ability to teleport anywhere that I would think of going. The power to teleport and predict the future could help me do
helpful tasks for people, but the power to turn one thing into another would be the one I emphasize. If I were a superhero who could do that, I would never be without anything ever again! If something were ever missing or out of place I could simply replace it by turning something such as a pencil into whatever it is that it needed. I would use this power to help myself and others who were in distress.

This power might not seem a great as setting things on fire or flying, but if you think about it, one can do much with this simple ability. Instead of flying, you could turn some scrap metal into a helicopter or a plane. Instead of setting objects on fire, you could turn a pen into a flamethrower. With some creativity this power can match up and even overcome most other ones.

Every child has always dreamed or thought about having a superpower. I know I have at one point. Most of the superheroes in movies have one special power that pertains to only he or she, so why not have multiple superpowers whenever you want?

If I could have any never-before-used-by-any-other-superhero power, I would choose to have an unlimited supply of any superpower I want. In whatever situation I'm in to help myself or to help others, I would always be able to rely on my unlimited supply to get me out of trouble. For example, if I ever get grounded by my parents for the weekend and I want to go hang out with my friends, I would use my superpower to make a replica of myself to stay in my room while I'm actually out with my friends.

Although it may seem that my superpower is only beneficial to me, it really wouldn't! My main superpower that I would want in my unlimited supply would be making replicas of myself so that I would be able to help others while doing whatever I need to do. If a friend ever needs my assistance, he or she could just call me up and I'll make an exact replica and send it to him or her to help!

Instead of being the usual superhero in a personally designed suit with tight spandex from Edna in The Incredibles, I would have to agree with Emma that I actually wouldn't want a super suit. I would rather be myself and dress however I wanted. I don't need to be one of those superheroes who stand out in the bright suits and spandex. I want to blend in with everyone else.

` When one dreams, he usually wants to make himself better. Because of our imperfections, we as humans tend to dream about powers that somehow makeup for our inadequacies. Superpowers, in the human mind, are powers that make a person more interesting and stronger than he/she usually is. Superpowers make a human “super” – its causes a human’s ego to unnecessarily rise.
Examples of superpowers include: flying, telekinesis, invisibility, flexibility, malleability and others. Would I choose any of them? No. Why; because those characteristics are what people wish to have every day- those characteristics are all clichés from my favorite movies. If I had to choose a superpower, I would choose to have the power to stop terrible events from happening. I would not be like a regular Superman or Spiderman and fight the events that happen while they are currently happening. I would be all knowing-omniscient. I would know all the little things that cause big things which then leads to detonation.
I like Charlotte’s idea of turning a person’s dream into reality. It is very interesting and one of a kind. However, there are some harmful events that can happen if some people’s dreams were to become real. Some people have dreams of committing abhorrent murders. If those dreams become reality, it would cause more destruction than help.

I agree with Danny that your are not Wonder woman. My super power would be the power of creation. I would be able to create what ever I want like food, money, or a house. Everyone would look up to me. People would love me because I would give them everything that they need so that no one is unhappy. I would use my power every day. I would not have to move because I can create everything I need right in front of me. Everything in life would be easy. I would be able to beat any villains because I can just create something to kill them.

Rachel Cooper said...

Honestly, I would want my super hero power to help the world, like Lizzy. I have always been compassionate towards almost everyone and anyone. As a child I used to cry when I saw homeless people on the streets on New York City. Whenever friends or family are upset I try to get them to open up to be to see if I can help or just listen. The problem is that sometimes I just cannot come up with good advice or a solution to someone's problem.
I guess it could be said that I would want my super power to be the ability to read minds, which is similar to Lizzy's. But I think that I would want my power to be more specific. My super hero power would be able to see into someone's mind to understand exactly why they are upset or feel the way they do and then be able to find the right solution. I know that it is impossible to solve the entire world's problems but I would want to do as much as I can and I feel like this is one of the best, non-violent ways to do it. By knowing what is really going through someone's mind, I could then use my power of determining the best solution.
Like many of my classmates said, I would not want a fancy costume or name or anything of the sort. To me, being a super hero isn't about being famous or constantly in the public eye; it's about doing good because it's whats right. I do not need immense amounts of recognition to know that I am helping the world.
Maybe that is why there aren't many female super heroes; girls don't feel the need to be identified as heroes whereas guys need the recognition for their egos.

Superpowers are just dreams that little kids have in their dreams. But as technology progresses some of these powers like flying, climbing vertical walls, x-ray vision, laser eyes and ect., could become reality. So let us say that if I could pick one of these magical powers to take with me wherever I want, it would be none of the above. My power that I would want to pick would be the greatest memorization brain ever. Therefore I would have unlimited memory, and never forget a single thing. My superhero name would be, “Remember Me.”

I would put my powers to the best of my ability to helping fight crime, and fighting for justice. I bet the police department could use a portable, person database. I would read tons of books and remember each line like the back of my hand. I would know the law by heart. History I would remember in a heartbeat. All this tied together would help solve crimes in less time than it ever would.

My power would constantly be running, remembering everything that I do say, read, hear or see. While some people have photographic memory, I would have videographic memory. Just like how Emma and Cesar said about clothes; I would not dress in a spider outfit, or have a huge dull S on my chest, or have bats as my interior design, except I would have normal clothes, I would stay hidden. People would not suspect a thing about me other than just another normal human being. When I help out solve crimes then the crowd would see, I am special, and I am here to help.

Everyone has their wishes to become someone they're not. Others want to have a special ability to claim to themselves. There are even some people who would die to lay their hands on a special power than can allow them to destroy nations, even a world. IF I would be super hero, I would love to have the ability to transfer my soul and mind to another being, rendering myself unconscious while I explore the contents of my host's body. I would be able to control their actions, still maintain their regular voices, find out answers to any problem or situation I would be in, and of course, to explore their deepest and darkest secrets...tehehehe. I mean, you got to have a little fun too, it's not all about saving people and what not. That's too boring and it would just be a drag all the time. I'm probably sounding like a jerk but seriously, I need to have some excitement once in a while. And what better way of being excited than being able to walk around another person's body, to see what they see, to see the results of their actions with the people they surround themselves with.

But I'm not finished yet. What's the point of having super powers if there isn't some sort of a flaw to it. WELL FOR ME, my body switching powers would have a disadvantage as well. I was always one for challenges. Anyways, since when I use my power to enter the mind of another person and having complete control of the host, I would be limited for a short amount of time before I lose so much energy that I can't hang onto the host. I would also leave my body defenseless, leaving it susceptible for someone to attack or suspect of anything superhuman. My name as a super hero would be (dark voice) soultaker because I can manipulate the host's soul and make it my own for a good amount of time and use it for my "evil" purposes. Charlotte makes a good point when she states that women are always the helpless ones that the guy has to protect and eventually leads to some weird romantic relationship. But I think that girls should be a bit helpless...you need a girl to accentuate your complete awesomeness you know. But there are those type of girls who just hover over you and their breaths in your neck screaming your name "WE LOVE YOU SOULTAKER!!!! PLEASE MARRY ME!!!!" Like SHUT UP! Dang it you're so annoying! Personal boundaries man, I mean I would love my fans but I'm too busy exploting people's secrets to my amusement and I don't need any girls to chase me around and stalk me 24/7. SO YEAH.....it would still be fun though. Heheheh.

Superpowers are something that every kid and even many adults dream about. There are the classic ones: flying, superstrength, and superspeed. However, I don't really think these powers would be very practical in modern society. When I read Danny's blog response, I was a little mad because he took my idea, but then I realized there's something better than time travel. I would like the power to stop time. I think this would be the best power imaginable (other than God's powers), because you could do anything you want with no opposition. I could do anything I wanted, whenever I wanted. Although perhaps "when" isn't the right word because "when" wouldn't exist. If something went wrong, I could stop it and take as long as I wanted to correct it. I would just snap my fingers and do my thing. I would give almost anything for this power.

Every kid growing up wanted to have some kind of superpower or be like a superhero. I know I wanted to be just like Batman because he helped everyone out and especially because he stopped the evil guys.
I agree with Emma when she said that she would rather be a subtle superhero. I wouldn't want everyone knowing my biggest secret than I wouldn't really be a superhero, I believe. I were to develop some sort of superpowers I think it would go along the lines of keeping people happy when they are down and being able to control other people's emotions in a way.
It would be really useful in comforting people who are going through a tough time and help people deal. I think this is an ideal power for my personality because I am that type of person that is looking out for someone and making sure everyone is alright. So without being a nag, in a way, I could help the victim cope with whatever is going wrong in their lives and whatever troubles they might have. This power is also very useful in that it would keep everybody calm in stressful situations. Most people tend to freakout in situations that involve terrorism or robberies so by being able to control people's emotions, it would help get through the problem quicker and easier. It would also allow the police to do their job more efficiently and not worry about dealing with the emotionally stricken victims.
This would also be helpful in stopping violent acts. IF there was a fight at school or somewhere, I would be able to stop the fight by calming the people down and I wouldn't have to physically get involved.
My real life would be like a social worker and someone who actually helps people on a daily basis. Then whenever I see or hear someone in trouble and needs my assistance, I would immediately change into a mask which has the ability to mask who I am. It wouldn't be a suit like all those other superheroes because that would be way too complicated and would take too long to change into.
I actually really like mostly everyone else's ideas too. I especially like Christian's because sometimes in life, we have to deal with stubborn people who don't wanna tell you certain stuff. So by having Christian's power, you would get those answers and probably even more. Also his power interests me because it gives you a chance to walk in someone else's shoes for a while. Like Atticus said, "You never really know a man until you stand in his shoes and walk around in them."

If i could be a super hero my name would be Anything-Man. I would have the power to do anything at anytime whenever I wanted too. When you think of super heroes you usually think about someone who has an everlasting fight with crime or some other opposing force, but I wouldnt have that problem because I would end every problem that arises with one thought. Ive never really understood why super heroes were never able to completely stop crime or just keep the world at peace. I also dont like the fact that female super heroes are underrepresented in the Super Hero community! I mean if you are creating someone who is super human the fact that they are male of female wouldnt matter, am I right? I agree with Sai about the fact that many people dream about having super powers, maybe one day in the future technological advances will give people the power to do some of these things

Julian Stello said...

I agree with Sabrina I know for a fact when I was little there were moments in time where i even thought that I was a super hero. What I have always wondered is what everyone else is asking what is the point of the whole costume idea? And also why is it that the majority of super heros are me? To be honest I do not think we will ever figure either of those questions out but in my eyes super heros will always be real.

If I were to have one personal super power, it would be to make everyone in the world who is up to reeking havoc have a clear mind and to get all the hate out of their system. This would help our world out drastically crimes would no longer be fathomable deaths would only happen from natural causes and the world overall would just be a much better place. The way I look at it as times are a bit rough right now, we do need a super hero. As dumb as it sounds if it was humanly possible for one person to single handedly cure our world life would be very much easier for everyone as a whole no more fear no more trouble, I just wish it could be that easy. I agree with Austyn in the way that hopefully in the future our dreams will become reality and it will be possible for us to have super hero functions to help make this world a better and stronger place as a whole because we'll need all the help we can get, super hero's one day will literally save the world.

As a child, like many other toddlers, I always wanted to have the power to fly. I would stand on my sofa and take a leap hoping that one day I would take off (it never happened). As I have gotten older, I see that there can be more to being a superhero than just typical powers like flying, super speed, invisibility, super strength, ect. If I were a super hero, I would have the power to zap in any type of food anywhere and anytime. Now I know this power seems foolish and greedy on my part but there is a positive to being able to do this. Of course I would use this power for myself at times when I get lazy but it would mainly be used as a start to ending world hunger. I would spend my days as this super hero traveling the world making sure no child would have to go another night hungry. I cannot stand watching commercials for starving children. My powers would be used to help all the children and even adults that I possibly can . I like Sai's idea of creating a power to stop time. I believe that combining both of our powers would be beneficial to the entire world. Emma says that she would like to be a subtle super hero and I also agree with her on that. I would not want to walk around with everyone knowing who I really am and what I do for people. Sai would be able to stop time as I zap food in and we would both leave with our identities still hidden.

Growing up, I was surrounded by superhero's whether it was in comic books or on television. Until this day, there has not been a second when I did not want to have a superpower. Superhero's seem like they have really fun jobs and I would love to be a superhero even for 1 minute.
If I was a superhero, I would have the power to stop time and everything/everyone around me. Also the power to rewind time. When ever I or someone is in a bad situation I would stop what was going on and save that person. For example, if a bus was about to run a pedestrian over, I would be able to stop everything going on around me and safely take the pedestrian out of harms way.
My power would only be used for good. Even though I would have the urges to stop time and rob banks and do other devious things, I would not. My power would be used for good and only good.
My costume would be blue and I would have an hour-glass on my chizzled muscular chest. My superhero name would be the ShowStopper!!! I would have a huge impact on the lives of all citizens and I would save people daily.
I agree with Austyn, I also never understood why the fight against crime was never over for superheros, but with my that would be all different. I would completely defeat all evil and keep it that way for every persons safety and well being.
I wish it was possible, someday, somehow to have a superpower like this. For now it is only a dream, but hopefully in the future it can become a reality.

As a child, everyone wants to have some type of superpower, or looked up to some type of superhero. A while back, when I was a child, my favorite superhero was batman. He was not like all other superheros who were either aliens, or genetically altered. He used his brain (and money) to his advantage and was able to take down superheroes. Yes he was strong, but not abnormally freakishly strong like superman. All the abilities and gadgets that batman had, he worked for, and that's what is most impressing.

If I could have any superpower, it would be the ability to take and absorb other people's powers. With this power I would be able to take the power of another, but at the same time disabling their's. And as Christian said every super hero must have a flaw. WELL FOR ME mine would be that I can only maintain the powers of two other people at a time, and each person regains their power six months after I dispose of it. According to Sai, even though his power is great, mine is better because in essence I can have his and then, he will not have it. And if at any time I decide I do not want it anymore, I can easily dispose of it, and then you must wait to regain your power. So basically if I cannot have it (or do not want it) neither can you.
